Why Thailand

When investing in property anywhere in the world you are not only buying that property but also buying into the country your purchase is in.  It is an investment in that country as a whole and you will need to know what your investment potential is, knowing that the general economic conditions will provide growth and stability.  For example, the Tourism Authority of Thailand recently launched its long stay in Thailand campaign.  Thailand with its relatively low cost of living, rich culture and high quality of services is well situated to develop this market.

Lifestyle
Thailand has also gained a well known reputation throughout the world as a basket of diverse cultures, a veritable mixture of the exotic flavors of the East complemented with the friendliness of its people. It is no wonder it is easy for Thailand to welcome the foreign investor or long-term expatriate to its shores.  On top of this add its stunning beaches and tropical islands, low cost of living, great weather, spas and restaurants and the growth potential of the property market, Thailand naturally attracts investors from around the world.  Also wealthy expats from the local regions make up a large percentage of the rental and resale market.  Year on year this marketplace is becoming more established, whether it be expats willing to pay higher premiums to rent super properties in Phuket, Koh Samui and Hua Hin or great opportunities for foreign investors to buy into the dream of a holiday or retirement destination.

Investment opportunity
In fact the price of property has more than doubled in Thailand in the last year or two and is expected to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.  Furthermore, Thailand is benefiting from this boom and as it is  ranked as the world’s 4th most attractive nation for foreign investment in a survey by the UN Commission for Trade and Development in 2004, it is a perfect destination for investment.  With Thailand also enjoying a strategic location at the heart of Asia, home to what is regarded today as the largest growing economic market, it also has the reputation of being one of the founding members of the ASEAN and enjoys uninterrupted social and political stability.  In addition, the country’s form of government – constitutional monarchy – allows democratic process and reforms.
